THE LONDON EVENT GIVES THE ENTIRE TRANSPORT SECTOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXCHANGE VIEWS AND OPINIONS

Today, half of the world population lives in urbanised areas and this trend is expected to increase sharply.

Mobility and transport infrastructures need to address this trend by seeking new developments based on sustainable and intelligent principles.

Sustainability and intelligence were exactly among the issues discussed at the 2017 edition of the London Transport Ticketing Global event which has just finished. The 2-day London event once again confirmed expectations and was a huge success with experts of the sector. The winning formula was gathering potential suppliers and expert speakers all under the same roof, involving them in over 50 conferences that conveyed insight and debate. A real opportunity to exchange different points of view.

In addition to focusing on the experiences and the forecasts delivered by the 100 speakers involved, attention was also given to cutting-edge technology and innovation in intelligent ticketing, smart cities and passenger information presented by the over 70 participating companies, attracting the attention of over 800 representatives of the sector.

Of the 800 attendees, 44% was made up of suppliers, 49% of Transport operators and the remaining 7% of Associations and Media. In 2016, 48% of attendees were from the UK, 32% from Europe and 20% from the rest of the world. Visitors from all over the world attended the event this year too.

Custom took part in the event not only as an exhibitor but also as a finalist in two Transport Ticketing Global Awards categories: Smart City 2017 and Ticketing Technology of the Year.

Over the last five years, the Transport Ticketing Global Awards have given due recognition to companies standing out for their steady work to successfully design, create and distribute smart ticketing systems throughout Europe.

This year the awarding ceremony was held at Landing Forty Two, in the heart of London, surrounded by the breathtaking view of London's skyline.

Although Custom did not receive any awards, it took this incredible opportunity to present to an expert international audience some of its most recent Smart Ticketing innovations, such as the new PP54: a comprehensive and innovative ticket management solution for public transport and parking.
