How to switch to telematic cash registers

As established by Decree-Law 119/2018, you need a telematic cash register to store and transmit the data, connecting to the network and selecting the transmission option on the FiscoOnline or Entratel portal.

With Custom telematic solutions, complying with the regulations is simple and advantageous.

How does a Telematic Cash Register work?

The Telematic Cash Register (RT) partly performs the same operations as a conventional Fiscal Meter (MF), but in a smarter way and connected to the Internet. As well as calculating and storing sales transactions, the date of purchase and the identifier of the register that carried out the transaction, it independently performs more advanced functions.

At the daily cash closure, the telematic device processes the stored takings data and electronically prepares a sealed file (XML) containing the sales information.

The file is then transmitted securely to the Italian Revenue Agency, guaranteeing the authenticity and integrity of its contents.

How to comply with the telematic transmission requirement

There are two ways to comply with the new regulations, depending on whether you want to keep your fiscal register by converting it to telematic or decide to buy a new device.

Come passare al telematico: Registratore Telematico Nativo o Regisratore Telematico Modificabile

1. Purchasing a new ‘native Telematic’ Register

The easiest solution is to replace your cash register with a new ‘native Telematic’ Register. All new Custom cash registers are technologically advanced and up to date, and ‘natively’ compliant with the law.

In the native telematic meter, the electronic journal (detail memory) is located under the fiscal seal.

2. Modifying a compatible fiscal register

Alternatively, you can have a modification made to the non-telematic cash register already installed. This modification transforms a Fiscal Meter (MF) into a Telematic Cash Register (RT). This is only possible if your cash register is ‘upgradable’ and therefore allows this update to be carried out.

In this case, the electronic journal remains external and can be replaced without breaking the machine's seal.

Comply with the regulations now and enjoy tax benefits

In any case, upgrade in good time by renewing your fiscal registers!

Once the upgrade has been carried out, you will be able to schedule the commissioning date automatically and start transmitting data electronically to the Italian Revenue Agency at the appropriate time. This way you can immediately benefit from all the advantages of telematic cash registers and the tax incentives available for upgrading or purchasing a telematic cash register. Until it is automatically commissioned on the preset date, the machine will continue to operate under the old rules.

Custom consultants are ready to guide you through every stage of the transition to Telematic. They will help you implement the solution best suited to your business: from preliminary operations to activation and commissioning.
