Il T Quotidiano - Dao-Conad presents the checkout-free supermarket in Trento: pick up your products, pay and leave

From 9 May in Santa Maria Maggiore: 200 hi-tech square metres. Penasa: with an infrared and artificial intelligence system, products no longer need to be scanned.

 

This is the new supermarket without checkouts, not even the self-checkouts we are already familiar with, launched by the Dao cooperative of Lavis, which runs 200 Conad-branded stores in Trentino and neighbouring provinces. The first Tuday Conad store of this kind opened in Verona last November. The second opens in Trento, in piazza Santa Maria Maggiore, on Thursday 9 May. Work to fit out the store is currently under way.
